A little preparation helps make your puppy visit and homecoming go smoothly.
Schedule your puppy meet & greet
- Appointments are required. We are not a retail store and cannot accommodate unscheduled arrivals. Call (641) 777-5575 to arrange a visit.
- Please arrive on time. If you are running late or need to reschedule, contact Cindy as soon as possible.
- Prepare before your visit. Discuss bringing home a puppy with your family and submit your puppy application before your appointment.
Pricing, deposits, and payments
- Puppies are sold as pet-only companions. Registration papers are not included with pet-only sales.
- Review the price on your puppy’s listing before applying. The supplied sales information lists 7% Iowa sales tax in addition to the puppy price.
- After you choose a puppy, Cindy will email a secure down-payment form and send a payment request. Deposits may be paid through Venmo or Square.
- Down payments and deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable, except as expressly provided in the written warranty.
- Final payment at puppy pickup is cash. Personal checks are not accepted.
- The supplied application states a 4% fee for credit or debit card payments. Confirm the applicable payment method and total with Cindy before paying.
- Cindy’s Puppies retains the right to decline a sale at its discretion.
Your application does not reserve a puppy. Contact Cindy to confirm the reservation process and the written purchase terms.
Out-of-state buyers
Cindy requires out-of-state buyers to arrange a State of Iowa health certificate issued by the kennel’s licensed veterinarian. A specific puppy must be chosen before the certificate can be issued, so choose your puppy before traveling to Iowa.
Allow 24–48 hours for the certificate, depending on the veterinarian’s schedule. Cindy’s supplied instructions also require a rabies vaccination for out-of-state pickup when a puppy is 12 weeks or older. Speak with Cindy before making travel plans to confirm documentation, timing, and any costs for your puppy and destination.
Health and safety during visits
- Reschedule if you have visited another breeder or rescue, or have been around a sick dog, within 48 hours of your appointment.
- No outside pets may come to the appointment.
- Visitors are not allowed inside the kennel facilities.
- There are no public restrooms on-site. Please plan to use facilities before arriving.
